Looking for Alpaca Walking in London?
Discover our ethical, free-roaming alternative where the alpacas choose to walk with you.
Why We Take a Different Approach to Walking
Many of our guests arrive actively searching for “alpaca walking in London.” While walking an alpaca on a lead is a popular idea, we believe their happiness should always come before a tourist activity.
Alpacas are highly intelligent and sensitive creatures. Being tied to a lead and forced to follow humans they do not know can cause unnecessary stress. It takes away their freedom to choose and forces them into an interaction.
Without the restraint of leads, our herd is completely relaxed. This lack of stress means their true, curious personalities shine through, allowing for a much deeper and more authentic connection than a forced walk could ever provide.

💚 The Free-Roaming Experience: Walking Amongst the Herd
Instead of leading them around a track, we invite you directly into their field. You get to walk right among the alpacas in their natural home.
Authentic Connection
By allowing them to roam completely free, our alpacas choose to interact with you on their own terms. It is a completely voluntary and genuine connection.
Happier Alpacas
Because they feel relaxed and safe in their own space, they happily choose to come over. This allows you to stroke, feed, and often cuddle them naturally.
Better Memories
Relaxed alpacas mean better photos, funny personalities shining through, and a highly rewarding experience for everyone involved.
Not Just a Walk: A True Alpaca Farm Immersion
There is a big difference between visiting a place that keeps a few alpacas simply to sell walking experiences, and spending time at a real alpaca farm. For us, animal welfare will always come first.
We aren’t here to offer a quick commercial walk. Our lives revolve around understanding and caring for these incredible animals. When you visit London Alpacas, you are stepping into their natural world. Guided by our farming expertise, you’ll witness genuine herd dynamics and experience what life is truly like on an authentic working farm.

Meet Our Friendly Female Herd & Baby Alpacas
We are incredibly proud to have some of the friendliest alpacas in the country. Because they are never forced to do anything, our herd genuinely enjoys human interaction. They love gentle strokes, and if you are lucky, some of them even lean in for cuddles.
Even better, we welcome adorable baby alpacas (known as crias) every single year. Our free-roaming field experiences take place right alongside these babies and their caring mothers, providing a safe and wonderful environment for visitors of all ages.
Our farming expertise is the reason why our interactive herd is exclusively female. Many places offering walks rely on a small group of males. While male alpacas are wonderful animals, if they are handled too much by humans and get too friendly, they can develop a condition called “berserk syndrome.” This causes them to treat humans like competing male alpacas, leading to dangerous behaviour. Tragically, this often means the animal has to be put down.
We refuse to put our animals at risk. By carefully keeping a gentle, female herd, we make sure our alpacas can safely enjoy all the attention they want. It is a joyful experience that puts their long-term welfare above everything else.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still take photos with the alpacas?
Absolutely! Because the alpacas are comfortable and free-roaming, you often get much better and more natural photos as they curiously come over to investigate you and your camera.
Is this experience suitable for children?
Yes. Because the alpacas are not stressed by being held on leads, our field environment is incredibly peaceful. This makes it a wonderful and safe way for children to interact with them.
